What to expect in Longreach

Longreach is 1180 kilometres from Brisbane, on the Tropic of Capricorn, not far from the edge of the desert in western Queensland. With a sparse population and big landscapes, it’s a different world! The town has all necessities but not too much in the way of cutting-edge fashion! We have cafés and lattés but you’re more likely to hear people discussing cattle prices than coffee blends! Nightlife? We make our own, getting together with friends and workmates around a BBQ by the river or in one of the local restaurants.

Current vacancies

Entertainers (Old Time Tent Show)

We’re looking for performers with a good sense of visual comedy, the ability to improvise and the confidence to handle our trained animals (trained to RSPCA standards). You’ll also be responsible for backstage tasks and for giving other support for our guest experiences. Share the old time traditions and send our guests away with big grins on their faces!

Horse Strapper/Polerunner

As part of our Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience, you play an important role in keeping things running smoothly with the horse teams and with our guests. If you have experience with managing horses (ideally also horse-drawn vehicles) and a friendly personality that can relate to guests, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to live and breathe your passion.

Wait-Staff

Are you calm and friendly, efficient and attentive? Then you’re the sort of person we need to look after guests at breakfast, lunch and our special Stonegrill Dining Experience and Country Classics dinners.

Housekeeper

Help us create the Outback Pioneers experience with an eye for detail that sets the scene for our guests. You need to lead, inspire and motivate the team to deliver absolutely spotless rooms each day.

Commercial Cook

Are you equally at home up-sizing a family recipe for a stockman’s stew to feed 50+ as you are bringing fresh inspiration to outback fare for the restaurant and cafe? You could be just the person we need!

Kitchen Hand

We’re looking for a can-do person to assist in preparing and serving delicious outback meals. Embrace the outback spirit, support our team, and help create unforgettable dining experiences for our guests in a heritage venue.
