The Staging Post boutique accommodation

Stay pioneer-style in the heritage heart of Longreach

Outback Pioneers invites you to kick off your boots in heritage-themed accommodation that is inspired by the era of stagecoach travel.

At The Staging Post in the heritage heart of Longreach, you’ll be living and dreaming the outback story. This unique accommodation would have impressed the ladies and gentleman arriving on the Cobb & Co coach but also has everything for today’s travellers. All rooms have ensuites, very comfortable beds, air-conditioning, TV and free Wi-Fi – plus clever pioneer-inspired features and lovingly-crafted quirks that create an unforgettable sense of place. The accommodation is open year round.

Wake up to a pioneer world

Your accommodation is surrounded by everything you need to set the scene for your Longreach holiday. You’re a few steps from The Welcome Home where you’ll find the accommodation reception, a big buffet breakfast, café and evening dining (open April-October). Listen for the town crier and the stagecoach passing by!

Dining and shopping

Here in the centre of Longreach, you’re a very short walk from local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The famous Merino Bakery and an IGA supermarket are on your doorstep. Along the shaded walkways you’ll find gift shops, a newsagent’s, clothes shops, The Station Store emporium and more.

Comfort and convenience

The Staging Post has two main room types: The Stables and The Coach Inn. Both give you a welcoming and comfortable stay. All the Outback Pioneers Experiences start from here (from the Cobb & Co Courtyard or by coach pick-up). A 5-minute drive (or pleasant 30-minute walk along the Botanical Way) takes you to the Qantas Founders Museum and the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame.

From our guests

Everything was absolutely fantastic! Down to the smallest detail. Even the welcome pack was amazingly presented. Perfect location, nice and quiet. And fresh milk, in a cute old style milk jar, meticulous detail!

Kara

I absolutely loved staying in my stylish room at the Staging Post! The decor has been brilliantly done. It has a lovely old world charm – but with modern amenities. The staff are great, and I really appreciated the free shuttle service to/from the train station and airport.

Julie

A very enjoyable stay at the Staging Post positioned in the centre of town – very convenient! Loved the historical displays in the main breakfast/dining building.
