A CHANGE TO KINNON & CO OUTBACK ACCOMMODATION

From 1 May 2018, Kinnon & Co’s Outback Accommodation is under new management.

Over the past five years, we’ve invested much passion and resources into developing our award-winning outback accommodation for Longreach.

We had recently been negotiating with the site owners on a new agreement that would have allowed us to create our future vision for the site but, unfortunately, we weren’t able to reach a suitable agreement. This means the site owners will now manage the accommodation.

If you have made a booking directly with us, your booking is safe and we’re working hard to manage the handover to the new managers.

Unfortunately, it’s not as simple with bookings made through third-party booking engines like Booking.com. In that case, you are officially their client and not ours and we do not have your contact details. That means your booking may be cancelled by the booking engine and you will have the option to choose different accommodation or contact the new managers direct on 07 4658 3811. We are so sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment this causes.

If you haven’t booked but still want to experience the heritage-inspired accommodation we created there, we can book it for you as an agent or you can contact the new managers on 07 4658 3811.

Why isn’t Kinnon & Co managing the Outback Accommodation now?

We didn’t own the land and had recently been negotiating with the site owners on a new agreement that would have allowed us to create our future vision for the site but, unfortunately, we weren’t able to find an agreement that suited both sides.

Can we still stay at the Outback Accommodation?
Yes. The owners will now be managing the property and you will be able to book through them or we can book the accommodation for you as agents.

Does Kinnon & Co have any other accommodation?
We own a small number of units behind The Welcome Home in town, which are mainly used for business travellers. These are separate from the former Kinnon & Co Outback Accommodation and they will continue to be available to our local and business guests.

For those with a 2018 booking (made direct with Kinnon & Co/Outback Pioneers)

We have already booked the accommodation with you what will happen to our booking?
Your booking details and any payment will be transferred to the new managers. They have agreed to honour all our bookings at current prices so it will be a seamless transition for you. We are working with the new managers to make sure it all goes smoothly for you.

What if I want to change my booking?
You can call the new managers direct on 07 4658 3811. After 30 April 2018 , we will no longer have direct access to the booking system so we will not instantly be able to tell you availability or reconfirm the reservation.

What if I want to cancel my booking?
Please contact the new managers on 07 4658 3811. They will have details of any payments already made and will handle any refunds under the terms of the original booking.

Are the experiences still running?
Absolutely. Outback Pioneers is still going strong with all the experiences guests love – and a few new developments.

Can you still pick us up from airport/station?
Please contact the new managers to confirm your transfers.

Will the experiences still pick-up from the Outback Accommodation?
Yes, our Nogo Station, Starlight’s Cruise and Winton Discovery Experiences all include pick-up and drop off at any accommodation in town. You will need to make you own way into Longreach for the Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience – please ask our booking office for advice.

For those with a 2018 booking (made direct with Kinnon & Co/Outback Pioneers)

What will happen to our Longreach holiday booking?
Your Longreach holiday is still safe and will go ahead as planned. If you are concerned, please contact your tour operator or our Relationship Manager, Vimla Naidoo, who will be able to confirm that your accommodation booking details will be transferred to the new managers.

Will you still be able to handle our group and look after the accommodation for us?
Yes, we will still be responsible for all your ground arrangements so we’ll make sure that everything is in place for your arrival.

Are the new managers still holding our allocations?
Yes, we will be doing a careful handover with them to make sure they know we are holding allocations for you. Firm bookings will all be honoured.

Our Relationship Manager will let you know if there is anything that affects 2018 allocations but we don’t expect any changes for this season.

Will original booking terms and conditions still apply?
Yes, your group is contracted with us and the original terms will still apply.

Do we contact you or the new management if we want to modify bookings?
Please contact your Relationship Manager, Vimla Naidoo, and she will take care of that for you.

Do we contact you or the new management if we want to cancel an allocation?
Please contact your Relationship Manager, Vimla Naidoo, and she will take care of that for you.

Will you still meet our group at airport/station?
Yes, we will.

What about groups for 2019?
Please contact your Relationship Manager, Vimla Naidoo for 2019 enquiries and she will advise you on accommodation options and allocations.
