MAKE THE ACCOMMODATION PART OF THE EXPERIENCE!
Choose from three different types of self-catering group accommodation where Kinnon & Co’s warm hospitality continues an outback tradition. Schools have their own self-contained option (see below).
On adjoining sites set back from the main Longreach-Ilfracombe road, and a few minutes walk from the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum, your group can choose from our heritage-inspired, 4½-star Homestead Stables, our unique 4-star Pioneer Slab Huts or our comfortable 3½-star Outback Lodges.
Depending on your group size, you may need a mix of all three types to accommodate different party sizes within your group.
Our Outback Accommodation has:
- 9 Homestead Stables (sleeping 3 to 4 in same room). One is configured for disabled access.
- 11 Pioneer Slab Huts (sleeping 2 in queen bed)
- 16 Outback Lodges (with a variety of one-bedroom and two-bedroom configurations sleeping 3 to 6. One is configured for disabled access)
All types of accommodation are self-catering, self-contained and have outback-themed character that sets the scene for a memorable and distinctive stay in Longreach. They all share the site facilities including swimming pool, BBQ area and laundry. The Homestead Stables and Pioneer Slab Huts have exclusive use of the bath terrace.
We offer check-in around the clock and our on-site staff are on call 24 hours a day.
The town of Longreach is an easy cycle or pleasant 25-minute walk down the Botanic Way. You can hire a bike from reception or we have courtesy transfers into town at certain times of day.
We have a coach drop-off, turnaround and parking on site or we’ll pick your group up from the railway station, bus depot or airport.
In order to give students a dedicated, secure, self-contained area, we have arranged for school groups to use Longreach Pastoral College, which is very experienced hosting school groups in its air-conditioned accommodation.
There is a variety of dormitory and twin-room options in a choice of accommodation blocks. Each dormitory block also has a common room with TV where adults can relax in the evening and there are tea and coffee-making facilities.
School groups can use the leisure facilities including pool table and swimming pool.
This accommodation is 4.5 kilometres from the centre of Longreach. Outback Pioneers buses are available for transfers to activities if the school does not have its own coach in Longreach.
Accommodation at the Pastoral College is in high demand by school groups so please lock in your excursion dates as soon as possible.
Please ask for our Schools Kit for more details.
